On July 5, 2026, IVF USA, together with Mexico's POWER IVF Fertility Center, hosted an in-person seminar in Shanghai focusing on IVF and egg freezing in Mexico, the United States, and Japan. The event centered on the real concerns faced by single women of advanced reproductive age and older families planning third-party assisted reproduction overseas. Three internationally recognized reproductive medicine specialists participated in a live Q&A session, engaging in in-depth discussions with attendees.
Throughout the seminar, the interactive Q&A session attracted the greatest attention. Many women shared their personal experiences and raised questions, making the discussion highly relevant to real-life fertility challenges.
Among them, a 38-year-old woman and a 43-year-old woman with an AMH level of only 0.36 and three antral follicles described their treatment history. Both had undergone multiple traditional minimal stimulation cycles at fertility clinics in Japan, retrieving only one or two eggs per cycle. Although they had accumulated 11 frozen eggs, they remained uncertain about whether they should continue.
In response, Dr. Wang explained that while minimal stimulation protocols require less medication per cycle, they also produce fewer eggs. For older women, repeated minimal stimulation cycles not only prolong the overall treatment timeline but may also result in a similar cumulative medication dose while reducing valuable reproductive time.
For women aged 35 to 38 and older who still have a reasonable ovarian reserve, the experts recommended focusing less on achieving "perfect" results and more on overall efficiency. After a comprehensive medical evaluation, choosing the treatment plan that best fits the individual's condition and prioritizing the preservation of Day 5 blastocysts that have completed genetic screening may be a more practical approach.
Several other common concerns were also raised during the event.
One participant asked whether embryo transfer would still be possible with an endometrial thickness of only 0.4 mm. Another 35-year-old woman with low AMH but otherwise normal clinical indicators wanted to know whether it was still worthwhile to continue treatment.
The experts explained that although a thin endometrium presents challenges, the uterus generally offers more treatment options than the ovaries. Through standardized hormone therapy and medical approaches such as PRP, some patients may still improve endometrial conditions. For a 35-year-old woman, even with declining AMH, age itself remains an important advantage. If a comprehensive evaluation indicates appropriate conditions, pursuing treatment is still considered worthwhile.
The experts also addressed one of the most common concerns among women undergoing ovarian stimulation: weight gain and premature ovarian aging.
A standard ovarian stimulation protocol typically lasts around 10 to 12 days using subcutaneous injections. The medications are gradually eliminated through normal metabolism and do not cause permanent weight gain, premature ovarian failure, or an increased risk of malignant tumors. For women facing a limited reproductive window, making informed decisions based on medical evidence is far more important than being influenced by misinformation circulating online.
At the conclusion of the seminar, IVF USA also introduced its integrated fertility network across Japan, the United States, and Mexico. Japan is well suited for efficient early-stage fertility preservation; the United States offers advanced medical technology and comprehensive legal protection; and Mexico provides flexible treatment options supported by an inclusive legal environment, creating additional opportunities for families with diverse reproductive needs.
Founded by Dr. Nathan Zhang, the IVF USA team has specialized in international assisted reproductive consultation for more than a decade, providing services including U.S. egg freezing, U.S. IVF, and third-party assisted reproduction. With nearly 20 years of experience in international reproductive medicine, IVF USA recognized the growing demand for personalized fertility care early on and established a strong presence in Mexico, becoming the official China representative of Power Fertility Center (POWER IVF) in Mexico. Today, Dr. Nathan Zhang's services extend beyond the United States to include IVF and egg freezing in Mexico, Japan, and Thailand, as well as services in Taiwan and Hong Kong. This seminar not only addressed many of the most pressing concerns shared by single women and women of advanced reproductive age, but also helped attendees gain a more rational understanding of assisted reproduction, empowering them to make fertility decisions that best fit their own future plans after fully understanding the available medical information.
